Outdoor Leadership Training Seminars
and Breaking Through Adventures

OLTS is a unique outdoor adventure organization offering (since 1973) trips and training in rock climbing, mountaineering, backcountry skiing, whitewater rafting, wilderness backpacking in the mountains, canyons, and deserts of Colorado, Utah, Arizona, and New Mexico. Our trips and courses are exciting, challenging, and occur in beautiful and dramatic settings. We teach basic skills for each outdoor activity and support each person in setting goals, exploring personal limits, breakthroughs in physical, mental, emotional and spiritual dimensions.

Some of our courses focus primarily on technical instruction in outdoor skills such as climbing, rafting, and backcountry skiing. Others are more experiential and involve participants in logistics, leadership and making group decisions. A few involve personal transformation through activities such as Tai Chi, meditation, music, nature ritual, and vision quests.

Outdoor Skills Training

Outdoor Skills Workshops provide specialized training in technical outdoor skills as rock climbing, backcountry and telemark skiing, wilderness backpacking, mountaineering, canyoneering, and whitewater rafting.

Breaking Through Adventures

Breaking Through Adventures are transformational outdoor experiences which see nature and wilderness as a medium for personal discovery, interpersonal growth, community building, and connection with a higher reality and sense of wholeness.

Outdoor Leadership Training

Leadership Training Programs seek to develop transformational outdoor leaders whose orientation is holistic and who are attuned to the nuances and integration of the physical, intellectual, emotional and spiritual components of adventure experiences.

Corporate Adventure Programs are designed to explore individual limits and barriers to self-development within a group context and encourage risk taking, trust building, and the development of personal vision and commitment to organizational goals and values. These programs provide an opportunity to explore new roles, dialogue about common concerns, practice teamwork and collaboration, and develop a sense of shared meaning and purpose. Outdoor activities such as ropes course, initiatives, climbing, orienteering, peak ascents and whitewater rafting are experiential mediums for developing these capacities in an action-oriented setting.
